Melbourne to Perth via The Overland and the Indian Pacific

We boarded the train Monday afternoon in Melbourne. The trip to Adelaide was a 12 hour overnight run. As we were to discover was the norm, the accommodations were excellent.
We boarded The Overland in Melbourne.

In Adelaid we had an 8 hour layover. Just the right amount of time to explore a new city. Naturally, we gravitated toward the sea and found ourselves at the harbour. There were a number of museums that included maritime, aviation and a lighthouse.
